Special Memorial Day Tribute on Charlestown & Beyond
Host Eddie Loan will pay tribute to all veterans this week, especially those who served in Viet Nam. He visits the Viet Nam Memorial on Green Street and displays all six Charlestown men who gave the supreme sacrifice in service of their country. Heroes, each of them. Eddie then narrows in on the first hero to die during that war, Lawrence “Butchie” Borden, through a conversation with his brothers, Jimmy and Lester, capturing the man he was and his growing up years in Charlestown. Eddie offers an excellent story of how ordinary these heroes were, yet patriotic to the point to take that extra step in defending their fellow soldiers and the mission they were serving. Don’t miss this very special show and remember to celebrate the true meaning of this Memorial Day Holiday. The show will air on Friday, May 24th at 8 and 10 pm; Saturday, May 25th at 11 am, 5:30 and 9:30 pm; Sunday, May 26th at 8 am, 4 and 11 pm; Monday, May 27th at 9:30 am, 2, 4 and 8 pm.
