Nightmare on Craigie Bridge

For those of you leaving Charlestown and heading West, everything about driving has become slightly more complex with the closure of the lanes heading into Boston over the Craigie Bridge by the Museum of Science.

Traffic has indeed intensified, with the overflow backing into Charlestown.

Just what we needed, isn’t it?

Not really.

One month of inconvenience will pass before traffic returns to normal, which is to say, what was already bad and grew worse will return to being bad.

Officials have suggested that Charlestown residents use public transportation.

Fabulous idea for ending the gridlock but fairly impractical nevertheless for many people rushing to work by way of Cambridge or the Rutherford Highway.
