Boys U-10 Division 3C Charlestown 3, Wakefield 0

If not for the plethora of spectacular saves by the Wakefield goaltender, this one could have been really ugly as the “Townies” posted a 19-1 shots-on-net advantage. Standout forwards Aidan Shea (2 goals, 5 shots) and Daniel Sigmund (goal, 3 shots) provided the scoring and netminder Jeremy Shea (3-1-0), who boomed a tremendous kick all the way across the field for a shot on net, posted the teams fourth shutout of the season. Charlestown also showcased their tremendous team depth as midfielders Matthew Coviello (3 shots), Owen Sullivan (2 shots), Quinlan Carroll (2 shots) and John Gaudian (2 shots) continually peppered the net with quality scoring chances. Sweepers Conor Kelly and Ryan Messer also pitched in with offensive forays as well as minimizing any Wakefield momentum with aggressive breakups. The “Townies” (6-1-1) play their final game of the season against undefeated Woburn (8-0-0) on Saturday at 1:15 PM at the Charlestown High School Athletic Facility (Firefighter’s Field).
