Mary Fitzgerald
Of Vermont, formerly of Charlestown
Mary J. Fitzgerald, formerly of Charlestown and more recently of Burlington, VT passed away at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington on Saturday, Nov. 10. She was 86 years old.
Born in Boston on Sept. 14, 1932, she was the daughter of the late John and Sarah (Campbell) MacDonald and was predeceased by her husbands, John Green and Edward A. “Bicky” Fitzgerald.
Mary was employed for many years as an accountant, most recently at Fidelity Management in Boston, from where she retired. She later worked at the USS Constitution Museum Gift Shop in Boston.
In 2003, Mary relocated to Vermont to be closer to family. She was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Charlestown and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Burlington, VT.
Mary is survived by her son, Michael J. Green and his wife, April of Waterbury, VT; four grandchildren: Alison Green, Alexander Green, Amy Lavery and Craig Lavery; three great-grandchildren: Kingston Kirkland, Kiara Kirkland and Jasmine Belizi; a sister, Anne Rohrbaugh of York, PA; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by four brothers: Donald, John, Donald and Paul MacDonald.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Charlestown on a date and time to be announced this spring.
