DiDomenico St Pat’s Celebration, Flatley Luncheon, Warren Tavern Highlight Charlestown St Patrick’s Day Calendar

The calendar has begun to get a little busy as St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, begins to roll around and the green suits will need to be broken out and ironed early this year as things kick off this Friday, March 9.

State Sen. Sal DiDomenico and the DiDomenico Foundation will hold the fifth annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration and Roast on Friday, March 9, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in the Father Mahoney Room. The fete is always one of the big ones, bringing out heavy hitters like Gov. Charlie Baker, Congressman Michael Capuano, Mayor Martin Walsh, Everett Mayor Carlo DeMaria, Chelsea City Manager Tom Ambrosino and a wealth of other celebrities and dignitaries.

Bring your shillelagh though for protection, as sometimes the barbs can become vicious as the roast heats up.

The night starts at 6:30 p.m.

  • Meanwhile, on Wednesday, March 14, Mayor Martin Walsh and the City of Boston will host their annual luncheon for Charlestown seniors at 1 p.m. in the Warren Tavern. There will be a traditional meal and plenty of Irish music and fun.
  • On Friday, March 16, the Flatley Companies and State Rep. Dan Ryan will host the annual St. Patrick’s Day senior citizen luncheon at the Knights of Columbus Hall in the Father Mahoney Room from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The crowd can be rowdy, but the corned beef is always a-plenty.
  • Finally, the Warren Tavern will host one of the best St. Patrick’s Day celebrations all day on March 17 in the Tavern. Entertainment will be all day, and Irish step dancers will liven up the old watering hole around at 4 p.m.
