Resident to Head Bruins Pharmacy

A Charlestown resident will head the official pharmacy of the Boston Bruins NHL hockey team.

Joseph Skellie, a Charlestown resident was named America’s Compounding Center (ACC) Pharmacy Manager last Thursday.

ACC is a Newton based and family owned pharmacy that specializes in custom-made prescriptions for pain management, hormone therapy for men and women, sports medicine, thyroid treatments, pediatrics and more. ACC also serves as the official pharmacy of the 2011 Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins.

“I am thrilled to take on a management role and to be working closely with Arthur, who was one of my co-op preceptors while I was in studying pharmacy in college,” Skellie said in a statement.

According to ACC, Skellie joined the company in January 2013 and had worked for CVS for five years.

As ACC’s Pharmacy Manager, Skellie will oversee and lead a team of 15 pharmacists and technicians. He will oversee daily regulatory compliance, quality assurance and patient satisfaction.

“Joe (Skellie) is a tremendously skilled pharmacist and has strong management skills that will serve our pharmacy well,” said Arthur Margolis, R.Ph., pharmacist and owner of America’s Compounding Center in a statement. “We are very excited to elevate him to the role of Pharmacy Manager.”
