William ‘Soupy’ Campbell

Member of Old Charlestown Schoolboys Association

William D. “Soupy” Campbell of Charlestown died on July 15. He was 74 years old.

A U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of The Old Charlestown Schoolboys Association and The Teamsters Union Local # 25.

The beloved husband of Anne M. (Almeida-Doherty) Campbell, he was the devoted father of William Doherty and his wife, Nancy of Chelmsford and Marilyn Daly and her husband, Kieran of Norwood; loving grandfather of Rory, Kaitlyn and Kelsey Doherty and Gillian and Jarrod Daly; beloved brother of Philip Campbell and his wife, Mary of South Boston, Jean Sullivan and her husband, Jack of Charlestown and the late Joan Mahan and Paul Campbell.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to The Frank H. Carr Funeral Home, Charlestown. Burial was in the Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne. Mary ‘Mae’ Feeney

Golden Age Center member

Mary C. “Mae” (McCrevan) Feeney of Charlestown died on July 11. She was 87 years old

A member of the Charlestown Golden Age Center, she was the beloved wife of the late John A. Feeney; devoted mother of Mary Miele of Charlestown, Patricia Feeney of Maine, Kathleen Boutwell, James, Daniel and Michael Feeney, all of Charlestown and the late John “Al” Feeney and William G. Feeney; loving grandmother of 19 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Mary Gallagher

Of Malden, formerly of Charlestown

Mary A. (Lynch) Gallagher of Malden, formerly of Charlestown, died on July 10.

She was employed by the City of Malden Assessors Office and was a member of the Ladies Auxilliary of Irish Americans and a volunteer at Bread of Life.

She was the devoted wife of the late Robert L. Gallagher, Sr. ; beloved mother of Robert L. Gallagher, Jr. and his wife, Tina Marie of Londonderry, NH, Michael Gallagher and his wife, Angelyn of Las Vegas, NV, Karen Harrison and her husband, David of Upton, Dennis Gallagher and his wife, Beth of Brandon, FL and Gary Gallagher and his wife, Nicole of Malden; dear sister of Theresa Thompson of Foxboro, John Lynch of Tewksbury, Sr. Bernadette Marie of Louisville, KY and the late William, Eugene, Herbert and James Lynch. She is also lovingly survived by 13 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

John Lillis

Boston and Maine Railroad retiree

John J. Lillis of Charlestown died on July 11. He was 76 years old.

A retired employee of the Boston and Maine Railroad and a retired member of Local #799 I.L.A, he was a former member of The Halligan Club.

He was the beloved husband of Barbara (O’Neil) Lillis; devoted father of Margaret V. Lillis and John P. Lillis, both of Charlestown; beloved brother of Kathleen Ells of Stoneham and the late Joseph, Mary, Norma, and Paul Lillis.
