2025 Marks the 250 Anniversary of the Battle of Bunker Hill

Dear Editor,

Did You Know? The Bunker Hill Monument Association (BHMA) is 201 Years Old!

Founded in 1823, the Bunker Hill Monument Association (BHMA) was established to lead the creation of a lasting tribute to the patriots who fought at the Battle of Bunker Hill, one of the earliest and most pivotal encounters of the American Revolutionary War. After 16 years of determination and intermittent progress, the iconic 221-foot granite obelisk was completed, standing proudly atop Bunker Hill in Charlestown.

Today, 201 years later, the BHMA remains dedicated to preserving the history of the Battle of Bunker Hill and safeguarding its artifacts. In collaboration with the National Park Service, the association continues to commemorate, memorialize, and honor the legacy of this historic battle.

Looking ahead to 2025, the 250th anniversary of the battle will be marked by a series of special events, culminating in an annual commemoration ceremony at the monument on June 17, 2025.
