Both Malden Catholic’s senior wing Cameron Delvalle and BC High’s sophomore wing Matt Lakus saw their Super 8 hockey story end in excruciating fashion with semi-final round overtime defeats. The Lancers fell victim to Arlington in double-overtime by a score of 3-2 and the Eagles were unable to put the puck in the net in a 1-0 setback to Central Catholic. While Lakus will have two more cracks at obtaining a ring, Delvalle can take solace in last season’s Super 8 title at Malden Catholic. Both were great ambassadors in continuing the “Townie” hockey legacy. Thanks for the memories guys…

Braintree sophomore standout Adriana Timberlake and the Wamps (20-4) battled Springfield Central (20-3) for the Division 1 Girls Basketball State Championship. The Wamps gave it their all, but lost to Springfield Central 61-45.
