Just what we needed.
Another snowstorm bearing down on us.
Another likely snow emergency and parking ban.
More and more snow.
Higher and higher piles of snow.
Greater inconvenience getting around our hilly streets.
And continued cold that has strained our heating systems and our badly hammered pocket books.
The winter of 2011 is turning out to be close to the Mother of all winters.
Not since the year of the Blizzard of 1978 has there been so much snow this early in the winter.
There is virtually nothing to be hoped for but more of the same with January coming to an end and February ready to arrive.
What are we to do?
Absolutely nothing.
Sit back and enjoy it in the knowledge that all the complaining in the world won’t change our situation – not until late in March at the earliest.
By the time April arrives, all this nastiness will be a distant memory.
Ah, the joys of being a New Englander.
