Kathleen M. Elliott

Known for her kind-hearted, humble and upbeat nature, especially her creative wit and intelligence

Kathleen M. Elliott, 73, of Charlestown, beloved partner of Ann Beard for 26 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

Kathy was born August 9, 1951 in New York to the late Margaret and Robert Elliott.

She is survived by her two sisters, Margaret Markovic and her husband, John Markovic of Trumbull, Connecticut, and Mary Sikorski and her husband, Brian Sikorski of Westport, Connecticut, along with her brother, Robert Elliott of Fairfield, Connecticut. Kathy adored her niece and nephews, Kathleen Haimoff and her children, James, Maya and David of Fairfield, Connecticut, and Joseph Sikorski of Norwalk, Connecticut and James Sikorski and his wife, Adrienne of Brooklyn Heights, New York and their son, Charles.

A graduate of Northeastern University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Economics with Honors, followed by an MBA in Finance from Boston University, Kathy was an accomplished student. She had a long and successful career at David L Babson. There Kathy served as Vice President on the Investment Counsel as a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Director of Research. She was the first woman elected to the Board of Directors.

Shortly after leaving David L Babson, Kathy became interested in Angel Investing and began mentoring several women-led companies, guiding them through the myriad phases of entrepreneurship. This experience led Kathy to co-author the book “The Old Girls’ Network.”

Kathy was an avid skier, golfer, and tennis player. She spent many hours enjoying tennis at Longwood Cricket Club in Chestnut Hill, golfing at Turner Hill in Ipswich, as well as skiing and golfing in Telluride, Colorado. She had many friends and was known for her kind-hearted, humble, and upbeat nature, especially her creative wit and intelligence. Her excellent athletic skills and gracious sportsmanship made her everyone’s favorite tennis and golfing partner.

Services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Angel Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston and the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, MA.
