The Chain Forge Hotel project has petitioned the City of Boston to remove 10 mature street trees on First Avenue in the Navy Yard.
A hearing on the matter will be held by the Boston Tree Warden on Aug. 2 at 10:30 a.m. in 1010 Massachusetts Ave., Third Floor, Roxbury (ISD Building).
The trees are located in and around 105 First Ave., and include the removal of seven pin oak trees measuring between 9 and 14 inches dbh (diameter at breast height), two honey locust trees measuring 9 and 12 inches, and a linden tree measuring 9 inches due to the hotel construction.
Public testimony will be taken at the hearing, or may be provided prior to the hearing in writing to the Tree Warden, Boston Parks and Recreation Department, 1010 Massachusetts Ave., third floor, Boston, MA 02118 or by emailing [email protected] with “Charlestown Tree Hearing” in the subject line.
A final decision regarding the request will be made within two weeks of the hearing.
