TOWNIE GIRLS ROCK THE RINK

Not to be outdone, the Charlestown girls hockey team captured the U-19 Tier III State Championship with an impressive 4-1 smackdown of Duxbury at the Emmons-Horrigan-O’Neil Rink last weekend. It marked the third year in a row the Townie girls have captured the state title.

TOWNIES MAKE IT 4 IN-A-ROW

As the host city for the U-18 (Tier II Small) State Championships, Charlestown stayed true to form at the Emmons-Horrigan-O’Neil Rink and captured their fourth consecutive title. After a hard-fought 4-2 triumph against the Lower Cape, Charlestown edged Nashoba by a score of 1-0. The Townies left no doubt in the championship game by routing a talented Winthrop squad to the tune of 7-1. Congrats to all of the coaches, players and parents for being great ambassadors for our “Green Square Mile.”

PUT ME IN, COACH!!!

Congratulations to “Townie” Alexa Hingston on her selection as the girls’ varsity hockey coach at Reading High School. As a former standout at Austin Prep and St. Anselm College (and Tiny Tots teacher’s aide extraordinaire), Alexa brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the ice.
