Osama Bin Laden

Some people are questioning (although we not exactly sure why) whether or not Osama bin Laden was armed when he was killed by brave Navy Seals who attacked him in his Pakistani hideaway.

Those asking such a question forget that this was a man who on 9/11 committed 3,000 acts of homicide – and that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the total number of homicides committed by this terrorist and murderer.

It is enough to say that he got what he deserved. When you face a guy who has on his hands the blood of about 5,000 dead innocents, you shoot first and ask questions later.

Thank God for the bravery of the men who took this guy down.

Thank God for the President who pulled the trigger on the mission.

Thank God for the United States of America.

At the risk of ruffling some feathers here,  I really don’t think that the United States should’ve gone in and killed Osama Bin Laden, as evil and horrible as he was. More to the point, despite the fact that OBL was evil, I do not advocate celebrating his death, the way an awful lot of people did. The spectacle of people in NYC and Washington, DC celebrating and partying over his death was a rather disgusting one, which indicates that our society, culture and the world still have a long, long way to go before becoming civilized.  The best thing to do would’ve been to have him tried at The Hague, or in a Muslim court for his crimes, and let the decisions regarding what to do with  him be made from there.
