“Townies” Sports Update

Once again, the Latin Academy swim team captured the City of Boston championship.  Congratulations go out to team members Gerard Rooney Jr., Keighan McGoff, Colby Cahill, Matteo Grando and Teaghan McLaughlin…Sophomore Tyrese Hoxter scored 27 points and junior sensation Akosa Maduegbunam added 18 more as Charlestown outlasted Madison Park in overtime by a score of 86-75…St. Anslem senior co-captain Alexa Hingston tallied two assists in her team’s 10-0 demolition of Castleton…Hebron Academy winger Michael Settipani notched a goal and an assist in his team’s thrilling 4-3 victory over New Hampton Prep…Senior captain Alyssa Sullivan popped in two goals as Arlington Catholic toppled cross-town rival Arlington by a 3-0 score.  Sullivan also added a hat trick in AC’s 7-1 thrashing of Archbishop Williams…Tufts University senior sniper Tom DeRosa had a goal and an assist in a 5-3 win over St. Michael’s…Boston Latin superstar winger Conal Lynch leads the MIAA with 28 goals…Malden Catholic junior sniper Brendan Collier is also among the MIAA leaders with 21 goals…Mt. St. Joseph (JV) center Kiersten Kelly finished the hoop season with a team-leading 91 points.
