Just as Matt Fishman, vice president for Community Health at Partners Health Care, stated in this week’s Patriot Bridge, “The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) helps keep thousands of children and families well nourished during the busy summer months,” including hundreds of residents of Revere.
And while Partners HealthCare indicated is grateful to be a part of such an important program “that impacts the people living in communities” that it serves, we in the Charlestown community are grateful to Partners for their generous $35,000 award to SFSP.
It is so important that children have access to nutritious meals not only during the school year but in the summer season as well. This program ensures that children will receive healthy meals each day.
Partners HealthCare’s ongoing support of programs of this nature is vital and commendable. Without organizations such as Partners stepping forward and making its presence felt financially and in its volunteer work, SFSP would not be able to provide this vital service to thousands of children.
Partners HealthCare deserves much credit for its support of this essential food service program
