BPS Hotline is Up and Running

Boston Public Schools (BPS) Interim Superintendent John McDonough announced Tuesday that the back-to-school hotline (617-635-9046) is up and running. Operators have fielded 880 calls since the launch on Thursday. Multi-lingual operators are trained and ready to answer a wide variety of questions from parents and students.

“We are making an intentional effort to ensure we are a more customer-friendly organization,” said McDonough. “As the first day of school quickly approaches we know our families have many questions. We hope they will take advantage of the well-trained and knowledgeable staff who are ready to answer their calls.”

The hotline is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am – 5:00pm. Beginning the first day of school (Wednesday, September 4) the hotline will expand its operating hours to 8:00am – 6:00pm. The hotline will remain available through September 13.

The first day of school for students in Grades 1-12 is Wednesday, September 4. Kindergartners begin school on Monday, September 9.
