Public’s Assistance Sought to Solve Crime

State Police detectives assigned to Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley’s office are seeking the assistance of dog walkers and fishermen as they investigate an apparent assault this week on a man in Charlestown.

State troopers assigned to the Boston Barracks discovered the 45-year-old male victim, who is believed to be homeless, on the fishing pier at Paul Revere Park on Monday afternoon. He had suffered a head injury and was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital. The investigation thus far suggests he had been assaulted the night before. State Police are investigating because the park is State property.

Specifically, the police hope someone may have seen a person or persons in the area of the pier on the evening or night of May 20. Tipsters may contact State Police by calling 911 from a cell phone. They may also call the Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit at 617-727-8817.
