Landry’s Bicycles Opens New Store in Charlestown

Landry’s Bicycles has expanded its employee-owned business with a new store that is now open in Charlestown. Landry’s has signed a long-term lease to occupy nearly 12,000 square feet of retail and service space within the new Hood Park urban campus. Originally home to the iconic New England dairy company H.P. Hood and Sons, the fully reimagined Hood Park encompasses nine recently renovated and newly constructed buildings in addition to Hood Green, a brand-new public park. Hood Park’s developers reached out to Landry’s with their proposal to include a bike shop as an essential community amenity.

Landry’s Charlestown store presents a contemporary-styled showroom featuring the best bike brands in the business, including Trek, Specialized, Santa Cruz, Giant, Parlee, Brompton, and more. The new location also includes a well-equipped bicycle service center, a comprehensive bike-fitting studio, and storage capacity for more than 600 bikes in stock and ready for sale. Located at 100 Hood Park Drive in Charlestown, the new store provides easy access from Interstate 93, the MBTA Orange Line, and regional bike-lane networks.

New store now open

After extensive fit-out construction, Landry’s store in Charlestown opened for business on January 18, 2022. The new store is managed by Calvin Vandor who has worked at Landry’s since 2015, most recently serving as the assistant manager of Landry’s Boston store. In addition, Landry’s veteran Greg Hoffman has signed on as the service manager for the new Charlestown store.

“Over the past two years we’ve seen firsthand how bicycle riding can improve the health of individuals and the livability of a community,” said Landry’s Charlestown store manager Calvin Vandor. “The more people ride, the happier the entire community is,” he added. “We are excited to grow our cycling community from this historical location, and we are now busy hiring and training staff to prepare for our new Charlestown store. We have been fortunate to have such dedicated employees and great customers to make this growth opportunity possible.”
