At the ACC Rowing Championships hosted by Clemson University, Miami sophomore rower Halle Alitz was part of the Second Varsity Four unit that finished first in its final race of the championships, winning its Petite Final with a time of 7:32.617 and finishing ahead of boats from Boston College and North Carolina. The Hurricanes 2V4+ was fourth in Heat 2 of its event with a time of 7:31.327, earning a spot in the Petite Final. Miami finished the 2018 ACC Rowing Championships with a team score of 22 points that placed the Hurricanes tied for eighth place with Boston College.


Worcester Academy senior sensation Micaela Sindoris was selected as the 2018 Harold D. Presson “Best All Around Athlete.” The prestigious award culminates a hockey career which saw Micaela become the leading scorer in school history. Oh, by the way, Micaela also sports a .650 batting average for the girls’ softball team.


Summer Softball for ages 7-12 is about to begin. There is a $75 registration fee and the season runs from the last week of June to the middle of August. It is a 14 game schedule. Any questions, contact Jack Schievink at [email protected] or 617-201-4507.



The annual Charlestown Little League Picture Day is scheduled for June 2. Not only will we have Bishop Photo on hand to take team and individual pictures, but we will also have a cookout with hot dogs and hamburgers (one free for coaches and players, available for purchase for everyone else), a Speed Pitch radar gun inflatable and the Sluggers Lane hitting inflatable. We will also have face painters and a balloon artist. This will be a fun event for the whole family!
