Charlestown resident Megan McNamara ran the 119th Boston Marathon in memory of her father Leo McNamara, who passed away in June of 2014 after five courageous years as a stroke survivor. Tedy’s Team was formed 10 years ago with the American Stroke Association following Tedy Bruschi’s stroke in 2005 to support and honor survivors and loved ones affected by the No. 1 cause of long-term disability. Megan joined over 30 members of Tedy’s Team, as they took critical steps toward raising awareness of stroke and its warning signs, as well as much needed funds for local research and educational programs. This year alone, team members raised over $400,000 to total over $3.5 million for the program over the last decade. To learn more about Tedy’s Team, visit www.strokeassociation.org/tedysteam.
