Charlestown Runners Help Dana-Farber Falmouth and Jimmy Fund

On August 17, 3 runners from Charlestown, MA, will run the 42nd annual New Balance Falmouth Road Race in Falmouth, Mass., to help conquer cancer as members of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s team. Kimberly Cook, Stephen McCaffrey running for Team Lanzoni and Rebecca Santos along with more than 225 Dana-Farber teammates from New England and beyond, will cover the seven-mile course with a goal to raise $700,000 for cancer research at Dana-Farber. In 2014, the Dana-Farber team celebrates its 12th year of participation in the race’s Numbers for Nonprofits program.

Each Dana-Farber Falmouth team member commits to raise or contribute at least $1,250. The team this year is striving to generate an average of $3,100 per runner. One-hundred-percent of funds raised benefit the Jimmy Fund (www.JimmyFund.org), which solely supports Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, raising funds for adult and pediatric cancer care and research to improve the chances of survival for cancer patients around the world.
