Police Briefs 10-11-2012

Assault and Battery 

10/02/12 – Officers responded to Phipps Street, where a man was beaten by three individuals. Upon arrival, officers observed a white male lying on the ground and bleeding from the face. The victim was conscious, but was unable to articulate any facts as to what had happened. He was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) for treatment. Detectives are investigating.

Breaking and Entering – Non-Residence 

10/02/12 – Officers responded to Green Street for a reported breaking and entering. An employee informed officers that when he arrived to work, it was apparent someone had entered the building, due to the fact items were strewn around and a safe had been moved. At that time, no signs of forced entry were found, nor was anything taken. Security footage shows the two suspects entering the building. It should be noted the same individuals are also on security footage from the prior attempted break on Main Street. Detectives are investigating.

Breaking and Entering – Non-Residence – Attempt 

10/03/12 – At about 4 a.m., officers responded to a business on Pleasant Street for an alarm. Officers observed an open window. The premises were checked, and officers were informed by owner that nothing appeared to be missing.

Robbery 

10/04/12 – A victim on Bunker Hill Street reported a black male entered his business and demanded money. When the victim refused, the suspect struck him in the back of the head with a golf club. The suspect then fled with a container with $200 in quarters. The golf club, as well as security footage, was seized as evidence.

Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon 

10/07/12 – A victim on Tibbetts Town Way stated three males jumped him in front of his home, and one of the males hit him in the face with a brick. A friend of the victim, who attempted to intervene, was punched and chocked. The suspects then fled the area. Two of the suspects were identified, and the matter is under investigation.

Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon – BB Gun 

10/07/12 – Officers   responded to Bunker Hill Street for a report of a man shot with a BB gun. As a result of the subsequent investigation, the BB gun was seized and the suspect was identified. Complaints will be sought in Charlestown Court.

Larceny – Bicycle

10/07/12 – A victim on First Avenue reported her white Trek bicycle that she secured in the garage of her building was now missing

Vandalism 

10/07/12 – A victim on Sheafe Street reported that an individual threw a brick through his window before fleeing in black Dodge Neon. The suspect was identified, and it appears this may tied to a fight that occurred earlier in the evening. There were also two similar incidents of vandalism that occurred on Belmont and Eden streets. The investigation is ongoing.
