Katherine ‘Kate’ Lincoln-Messina of Charlestown died on March 27. She was 66 years old.
She was the devoted mother of Jason A. Messina and his wife, April, of Lowell; loving sister of Walter Lincoln of Connecticut, Eleanor Barbuto and Mary Lincoln, both of Winchester, Rose Lincoln-Mullane of Charlestown, the late Alice Doherty and Patricia Bohn; beloved aunt of Bernie Doherty of Arlington, the late Donna Doherty, Joseph Fortunati, and is also survived by many other nieces and nephews. She was the devoted friend of “Bill W.”
Funeral arrangements were by the Frank H. Carr Funeral Home, Charlestown. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Marion T. (Salem) Giannino of Charlestown died on March 28. She was 84 years old.
She was the devoted mother of Paul Giannino and his wife, Santina, of Braintree, Nadine Doherty and her husband, Joe, Anthony Giannino and his wife, Alice, Robert Giannino and his wife, Polinaria, all of Everett, and Mark Giannino of Charlestown; loving Grandma to Joseph and Heather, Melissa and Matt, Isabella, Gabriella and Peter; beloved sister of Carol Colarusso and her husband, Albert, of Everett, Shirley Johnson of Colorado, Anthony Thomas of California, and the late Richard Salem.

Of Melrose, formerly of Charlestown
Charles S. Carroll Jr. of Melrose, formerly of Charlestown, died on March 26.
A US Navy veteran of World War II who participated in the Normandy Invasion, he was the beloved husband of Mary R. (Kelley) for more than 60 years; loving father of Charles F. and his wife, Patricia, of Plymouth and Paul S. and his wife, Kelley, of Melrose; cherished grandchildren Matthew, Eliza, Courtney, Kate, Charles Evan Carroll and Patrick O’Brien; dear brother of Ann Campbell of Hingham, Thomas Carroll of Charlestown and the late Eleanor Riley, Mary-Lou Gray and James Carroll. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
