State Senator Sal DiDomenico defeated Charlestown’s Barbara Bush in her first foray into the political arena in balloting Tuesday.

DiDomenico received 29,268 votes to Bush’s 8474 total for a 78% – 22% margin of victory.

“I am extremely pleased,” DiDomenico told the Patriot-Bridge. “The people have spoken powerfully. I won’t let them down.”

Earlier in the week Bush said she was feeling a Republican surge.

“I’m very confident,” she said.

But when all the votes were finally counted, DiDomenico’s strength had been made apparent.

Use good English. One candidate does not “best” the other. The proper term is “one candidate betters the other. It’s the comparative case not suplurative case.
