Joseph H. DiFrummolo of Charlestown died on Oct. 17.

A retired member of Local 615 S. E. I. U., he was the beloved husband of the late Lillian (Desmond) DiFrummolo; devoted father of Joyce A. Driscoll, Robert J. DiFrummolo and his wife, Yvette, all of Charlestown; loving grandfather of Robert, Janelle and Justin DiFrummolo and the late Sean Patrick Driscoll; great grandfather of Sean Patrick DiFrummolo, Liam and Chloe DiFrummolo; beloved brother of Angelo DiFrummolo of The North End and the late Vincent DiFrummolo and Virginia Pierce.

Helen Gillespie

Maine resident

Helen Macpherson Gillespie of Damariscotta, ME died on Oct. 13. She was 93 years old.

She is survived by her husband, Stuart; sons Stuart Jr. of West Bath, ME and Duncan of Charlestown and daughter, Margot Iwanchuk of Bedford, MA.

A graveside memorial celebration will be held in May of 2011.

Robert Stansfield

Of Everett, formerly of Charlestown

Robert J. Stansfield of Everett, formerly of Charlestown, died on Oct. 9.

A US Army veteran of World War II, he was the beloved father of Paula Luckraft of East Falmouth; devoted friend of Thomas J. Shields of Everett and is also survived by two grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were by the John H. Sawyer Funeral Home, Charlestown. Entombment was in Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.

Loretta Carr

Charlestown resident

Loretta L. (Lee) Carr of Charlestown died on Oct. 11.

She was the beloved wife of David Carr; devoted mother of Kimberly Kyle and her husband, Robert, and Brian Abrahamson and his wife, Pamela, all of Charlestown; loving grandmother of Kaley, McKenna, and Colin Kyle, all of Charlestown; daughter of the late Albert and Marion (Lamothe) Lee; sister of Albert Lee and his wife, Grace, of Malden and James Edward Lee of Charlestown.

Funeral arrangements were by the John H. Sawyer Funeral Home, Charlestown. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Dorothy Pompey

Of Everett, formerly of Charlestown

Dorothy A. (Desmond) Pompey of Everett, formerly of Charlestown, died on Oct. 9.

She was the devoted mother of Dorothy A. Gezotis of Kentucky, Steven Slocum of Brockton, Michael Slocum of Pennsylvania, Kenneth Slocum of Lakeville, Brian Burrows of New Hampshire and the late David Slocum; sister of Michael Desmond of South. Carolina, Walter Desmond of Everett, Thomas Desmond of Medford, Donna Desmond of Malden and the late William and Paul Desmond. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were by the John H. Sawyer Funeral Home, Charlestown. Burial was at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.

Andrew Brooks

Of Lowell, formerly of Charlestown

Andrew S. Brooks of Lowell, formerly of Charlestown and Wilmington, died suddenly on Oct. 10. He was 23 years old.

A graduate of Wilmington High School, Class of 2004, he was the beloved son of Waldina (Rodriguez) and Scott A. Brooks; step-son of Allison Brooks and David Cameron; long time boyfriend of Ana Burgos; devoted brother of Matthew Cameron, Lilliann and Cole Brooks; loving grandson of Lidia and Juan Rodriguez and the late Edward and Grace Brooks. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Rita Luce

Former Charlestown resident

Rita M. (Holland) Luce, formerly of Charlestown, East Boston, Quincy and Worcester, died on Oct. 10. She was 85 years old.

She was the mother of Daniel Luce and Frederick Luce, both of Florida, Laura Dundon of Abington and Patricia Smith of Worcester and is also survived by 10 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held in the McMaster Funeral Home, Braintree. Burial was at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
