Kennedy Center’s End of Summer Bash is August 28

As the warm days of summer begin to fade, the Kennedy Center is making sure the season ends with a celebration the whole Charlestown community will remember. On Thursday, August 28, from 2:30 to 5 p.m., neighbors of all ages are invited to gather for the annual End of Summer Bash, a lively afternoon filled with music, laughter, and connection at Barry Field (The Oilies) 41 Medford St., Charlestown.

The event will feature DJ WhySham keeping the energy high with favorite tunes, a Raffle table offering exciting surprises, and bouncy houses for kids to jump and play to their hearts’ content. Guests can also look forward to exciting games that promise friendly competition and plenty of smiles. And, of course, no summer celebration would be complete without delicious food — free food will be served to keep everyone fueled for the fun.

We’re proud to share that this event is made possible thanks to a grant from the Mayor’s Office of Community Safety, whose support helps bring joy and togetherness to our neighborhood. We’re also grateful to RSM for providing the volunteers who will help make the day run smoothly. In addition, a variety of community partners will be on hand, offering resource tables with valuable information, services, and connections for local families.

The End of Summer Bash is completely free to attend and serves as a thank you to the Charlestown community for another wonderful season together. Whether you’ve lived here for decades or just moved in, this is the perfect opportunity to meet neighbors, make memories, and send summer off in style.

Mark your calendars, gather your friends and family, and join us for an afternoon that’s sure to be the highlight of the season.
