Theresa Lang

Will Be Remembered for Her Fun Loving, Nurturing Spirit and Good Sense of Humor

Theresa (Welch) Lang, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Saturday, March 26.  She was 94 years of age.

Theresa was born in Boston on June 7, 1927, the daughter of the late Michael and Lillian (Orpen) Welch. She grew up in Charlestown.   Theresa was a homemaker who cared for her loving family above all else.  Theresa will be remembered for her fun loving, nurturing spirit and her good sense of humor. 

The devoted wife of the late Francis X Lang, she was the devoted mother of Francis X. Lang and his wife, Deborah of Readville, Theresa (Lang) Whalen of Charlestown and the late Noreen (Lang) Durham and Michael Lang. She is also survived by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.   

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Theresa’s Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, April 1 at 10 a.m. in St Mary’s Church, 55 Warren St., Charlestown.  Theresa will be laid to rest with her husband Francis in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.  Arrangements are under the care of Hamel Lydon Chapel, Quincy.  For online condolences please visit www.hamellydon.com.

Dorothy Foley

Grew up in Charlestown and Attended Local Schools

Dorothy A. (Murphy) Foley, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Saturday, March 26 at the North End Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Boston. She was 89 years of age.

Dorothy was born in Boston on March 2, 1933, a daughter of the late Timothy Murphy and Jeanette (Buchanan) Murphy. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended St. Catherine’s Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School. Dorothy was a homemaker who cared for her loving family above all else. She was an avid Boston sports fan, especially the Red Sox and the Patriots. She attended a total of seven U2 concerts and was also a fan of the band Snow Patrol to which she attended one concert. She loved animals, watching T, and playing word search puzzles. Dorothy will be remembered for her fun loving spirit and her good sense of humor.

The beloved wife of the late Edward C. Foley, she was the devoted mother of Deborah Foley and the late Edward Foley, the loving sister of the late Anna Theresa Grzelcyk, Eleanor Flateau, Janet Jarno, and Timothy Murphy Jr. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Dorothy’s Graveside Service was held on Wednesday, March 30 at 11 a.m. in Blue Hill Cemetery, 700 West St. Braintree. There were no funeral home visiting hours.
