Navy crewmembers from the USS Constitution in the Navy Yard conducted a 21-Gun Salute on Monday, Memorial Day, at noon. The Salute drew several people from the neighborhood despite the rain and loud noise of the canon fire. Every minute for 21 minutes, crewmembers shot off one blast in commemoration of those who gave their lives in defense of freedom and the United States of America. The Salute took place on the end of Pier One.
