CHARLESTOWN BEAT

Burglary – No Force

04/19/16 – A victim on West School Street reported unknown person(s) entered his work area and removed various tools. No further information was available at that time.

Burglary- Residential – No Force

04/20/16 – Victims on Essex Street reported upon returning home from vacation, they saw that their home had been ransacked. They stated there were no signs of forced entry, and the front door was open. At that time, jewelry and tools were missing, and the matter is under investigation.

Aggravated – Battery

04/21/16 – Officers responded to McNulty Court for a radio call of a person shot. Police were also informed the victim was already on the way to the hospital in his own car. Officers spoke to witnesses on scene and were able to recover ballistic evidence. A brief description of a suspect was given, and detectives are investigating.

Larceny

04/23/16 – A victim on West School Street reported that he locked his orange Mahuna mountain bike to a stand in his garage, but when he returned, it was gone. A surveillance video of the theft may be available.

Weapon – Firearm – Possessing

04/25/16 – Officers responded to a radio call for shots fired on Carney Court.  Descriptions of the motor vehicle involved and suspect were broadcast, and as a result of the subsequent investigation, both were located. Ballistic evidence was also recovered from the scene, and the suspect was identified as the person with the gun. The vehicle was towed, and the suspect was taken into custody.

Drugs

04/25/16 – As a result of a drug investigation in City Square, an individual was placed under arrest for possession of a Class E substance (Suboxone).
