Laurence E. Dewey
Formerly of Charlestown
Laurence E. “Larry” Dewey, a longtime resident of Somerville and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, New Hampshire following a brief illness. He was 69 years old.
Larry was born in Somerville on November 29, 1945, a son of Mary (Reilly) Dewey and Laurence A. Dewey. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated at St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School. Larry enlisted into the United States Marine Corps on January 14, 1964 and served his country with honor and courage during the Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged on November 17, 1967 with the rank of Corporal. Larry worked for over 35 years for Prolorized New England in Everett. Larry was a member of the Bunker Hill Council # 62, Knights of Columbus and The Old Charlestown Schoolboys Association. Larry enjoyed playing golf in his spare time.
Larry is the beloved son of Mary (Reilly) Dewey of Charlestown and the late Laurence A. Dewey. He is the dear father of Veronica Dewey of Rockland, Michael Dewey of Rockland and Nanci Dewey of Plymouth. He is the loving grandfather of 4 grandchildren. He is the devoted brother of John “Jackie” Dewey of Charlestown, Mary Jane Dewey of Wilmington and William “Billy” Dewey of Charlestown.
