With the estimated addition of 25,000 more cars traveling through Sullivan Square because of the Wynn Casino and with Wynn paying for re-building the square, the opportunity to hear and ask questions of the architect of a plan for re-building the square is very timely.
Sunday, Oct ober 26, Skip Smallridge will be the speaker at Middlesex Canal Association Fall Meeting. Mr. Smallridge is a principal of the professional partnership of Crosby, Schlessinger, and Smallridge, a firm specializing in landscape architecture, planning, and urban design. This firm developed the Sullivan Square land use plan for the Boston Redevelopment Authority in anticipation of the proposed reconstruction of the road network in that area. The overall planning effort and ideas suggested for historical interpretation will be covered in the presentation. Refreshments will be served following the presentation. The 1 o’clock meeting will be in the visitor center/museum of the Middlesex Canal, located at the Billerica Falls of the Concord River, 71 Faulkner St, Billerica MA 01862.
