Michael Elwell

Truck Driver and Lifelong Charlestown Resident

Michael P. Elwell, a lifelong Charlestown resident, entered eternal life suddenly on Sunday, January 12. He was 48 years old.

Born in Boston on January 1, 1966, a son of Edward J. Elwell and Ann M. (Power) Elwell, he grew up in Charlestown. He was educated at St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and graduated from Don Bosco High School in Boston in 1984. Mike, who worked as a truck driver for several trucking companies, was a devoted friend of Bill W.

Michael was the beloved father of Meghan and Stephen; the loving son of Ann M. (Power) Elwell and the late Edward J. Elwell; the devoted brother of Edward G. Elwell and his wife, Patricia, Dennis P. Elwell and the late Stephen J. Elwell and the loving uncle to Conor, Katie and Cullen. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Michael’s Funeral on Saturday, January 18 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St., Charlestown at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be on Friday, January 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, kindly make a memorial donation in Michael’s name to The Charlestown Boys & Girls Club, 15 Green St. Charlestown, Mass. 02129.
