Mary Hurley

Boston Traffic Supervisor, AKA Mary the Crossing Guard

Mary F. (McLaughlin) Hurley of Somerville, formerly of Charlestown, died on October 22.

The late Traffic Supervisor for the City of Boston (Mary the Crossing Guard), she was the beloved wife of the late Daniel F. Hurley B.P.D.; devoted mother of Michael D. Hurley and his wife, Patricia of Somerville and the late Daniel, James, Leo and Mary Hurley; grandmother of Carol and Michael Hurley; sister of Catherine McLaughlin, Vincent McLaughlin, Elizabeth Bell, Veronica Smith and Frances “Pauline” McLaughlin and the late Michael and James McLaughlin, Marge Coleman Rose O’Leary, Thomas McLaughlin, William “Steve” McLaughlin, Rita Biggins, Robert McLaughlin, Cornelius McLaughlin and Cecelia “Ginny” Powers and aunt of Alice Buckley of Charlestown.

Funeral arrangements were by The John H. Sawyer Funeral Home, Charlestown. Burial was in Mt. Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury.

James Donovan

Charlestown Resident

James F. Donovan of Charlestown died on October 24. He was 59 years old.

He was the beloved husband of the late Carol (Auch); devoted father of the late James Donovan; beloved son of the late Edward F. and Rita E. (Connolly) Donovan; beloved brother of Helen, Robert and Francis Donovan, Mary Still, Arthur and Michael Donovan and the late Rita Parker, Edward and Joseph Donovan and loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Stephen McGonagle

Of Wakefield, formerly of Charlestown

Stephen M. McGonagle of Wakefield, formerly of Charlestown, died on October 22.

He was the beloved son of Norma Rodriguez and the late Stephen M. McGonagle and step son of Scott Simas; step brother of Scott Simas and Kristina Deegan; grandson of Ginger (Olsen) and the late Patrick McGonagle and the late Pablo and Irma (Henriquez) Rodriguez.

Funeral arrangements were by the John H. Sawyer Funeral Home, Charlestown.  Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Mildred Walsh

Of Everett, formerly of Charlestown

Mildred R. (Murphy) Walsh of Everett, formerly of Charlestown, died on October 24.

She was the beloved wife of William J. Walsh; devoted mother of Mildred Moles of Everett, William J. Walsh, Jr. of Kentucky and Thomas J. Walsh of Tewksbury; grandmother of Michelle and Thomas Moles, Brian Walsh and his wife, Kaitlyn, Stephanie and Ashleigh Walsh; sister of Catherine Purslow and Edna Killion, both of Holbrook, and the late Ellen Driscoll, Jeremiah Murphy, William Murphy, Anna Kinney, Edward Murphy and Alice Russell and sister-in-law of Mary Walsh of Charlestown.

Funeral arrangements were by the John H. Sawyer Funeral Home, Charlestown. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
