Muriel McCullough-Caputo

Retiree of Salvation Army Boston Store

Muriel (Ireland) McCullough-Caputo of Lynn, formerly of Saugus, died on August 8 following a brief illness. She was 85 years old.

A retiree of the Salvation Army Store in Boston, she was the beloved wife of the late James F. McCullough and Frank P. Caputo; cherished mother of Deborah A. Caputo and Michael W. Caputo, both of Norwich, CT,  Peter A. Caputo and his wife, Jill of Saugus, John L. Caputo of Lynnfield and the late Daniel DeFelice and Frank L. Caputo; devoted grandmother of Danielle Bradley of Dartmouth, MA, Raya Sunshine DeSimone-Caputo of Winthrop, John R. Surette of Charlestown and Michael C. Surette of Saugus; dear sister of Helen Fuller of New Jersey and is also lovingly survived by her great-granddaughter, Tiara Pina and her devoted caregiver, Joseph A. Rotunno  of Lynn as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Robert Nye

Retired Everett Housing Authority Employee

Robert J. Nye of Everett, formerly of Charlestown, died on August 9. He was 71 years old.

A retired City of Everett Housing Authority employee, he was the beloved husband of 49 years to Eileen (McNamee) Nye; devoted father of John M. Nye and his wife, Kathleen of Peperell, Diane Marie Boudrot and her husband, Steven of Billerica and Robert J. Nye and his wife, Jeannine of New Hampshire; loving grandfather of six; beloved brother of Gerald Nye of Charlestown, Edith Reardon of Brockton and the late Ralph Nye, Florence Newinger, George and Edna Nye.

Hannah DeRosa

Charlestown Resident

Hannah M. (Doherty) DeRosa of Charlestown died on August 9 with her family at her side. She was 85 years old.

She was the beloved wife of 64 yrs. of Thomas A. “Dicka” DeRosa Sr., devoted mother of Frances Carroll and her husband, Stephen, Anne Marie Murphy and her husband, Michael, all of Stoneham, Thomas A. DeRosa Jr. and his wife, Kathy, Joseph DeRosa and his wife, Karen, all of Charlestown; loving grandmother of 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; the beloved sister of the late Capt. John Doherty U.S. Marine Corps, Philip and Joseph Doherty, Grace Callahan and Helen Foley and dear friend of Anna Noska and the late Bernadette O’Callahan.

Arthur Timmons

Retired Salesman

Arthur A. Timmons died at his Everett home on August 12. He was 90 years old.

One of six children born to the late Fred and Clara Timmons, he was born in Everett and graduated from Everett High School, Class of 1940. He served in the military in the Merchant Marines and worked as a salesman for Montgomery Elevator Company which is now Kone Elevator Company.

He was the loving husband of Pauline E. (Delaney) with whom he shared 62 years of marriage;  the devoted father of Patricia Shediac and her husband, Charles of South Boston, Maureen Timmons of the North End, Kathleen Timmons and her friend, Tom Yameen of North Andover, Susan Timmons of Charlestown, Arthur Timmons Jr. of Everett and the brother of Chester of Amesbury, Gertrude Griffin of Malden and the late Frederick, Charles, and Russell. He was the grandfather Michelle DeCastro of Florida, Michael Dello Iacono of Haverhill and the late Eric Tempesta of North Reading and is also survived by four great grandchildren. He also leaves his dear lifelong friends Herbert Strong and Tony Caracciolo. Arthur will be remembered for his warmth, sense of humor, gracious spirit, and devotion to family and friends. Besides being a very devoted father and husband, Arthur also enjoyed playing golf and cribbage.

His Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church preceded by a period of visitation at The Murphy O’Hara Funeral Home 519 Broadway Everett on Thursday morning from 8:30 to 10:30. Helen Connolly

NE Tel & Tel Retiree

Helen M. (McGonagle) Connolly died at her Charlestown home after a long illness. She was 77 years old.

Born and raised in Charlestown, she graduated from St. Francis de Sales Grammar School in 1949 and from Girls High School in Boston in 1953. She went to work for New England Tel & Tel Company in 1965 and retired from the Devonshire Street, Boston office in 2000.

She was the daughter of the late Helen (Walsh) and Charles McGonagle and is survived by her husband of 55 years, Eugene “Money” Connolly; three daughters; Karen Johnson, Ann Connolly and Kathleen Foley and one son, Kevin Connolly. She is also survived by three brothers; Charlie McGonagle, Leo McGonagle and Paul McGonagle. She was the grandmother of six.

Funeral arrangements were by the Carr Funeral Home, Charlestown. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
