Of Everett, formerly of the North End
Carmen E. “Shorty McDuff” Magnotta of Everett, formerly of the North and West End, died on April 10. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis (Damato) Magnotta; loving father of Katherine P. Magnotta, Angelina Miele and her husband, Paul and Carmen E. Magnotta, Jr. He is survived also by three loving grandchildren, Michelle Miele and her fiancé, Tom, Paul Miele and his wife, Barbara and Carmen, III. He leaves his dear friends Marie Abbruzzio and her family as well as his cousins James and Claire Imbruglia.

Marion Hart
Former Charlestown Resident
Marion V. (Adams) Hart of Revere, formerly of Chelsea, Medford, Somerville and Charlestown, died on April 14. She was the beloved wife of the late William L. Hart; mother of Marion “Ronnie” Kierstead of Largo, FL, Carol Harrington and her husband, Henry of Westminster, William L. Hart Jr. and his wife, Joanne of Windham, NH and the late Sandra Mazza and her husband, Salvatore of Tewksbury; grandmother of Donna, Maureen, George, Kelly, Sandra, Valerie, Karen, Susan, Brian, Victoria and John; sister of the late Kathleen Adams, Virginia McNelley, Irene Ricupero and James and Charles Adams. She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Thursday, April 19 at 8 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church in Malden at 9 a.m. Services will conclude with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. . She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Torpey of Arlington; sister of the late Frederick (Smokie) Brown of Charlestown; niece of George Torpey of Norfolk, VA; aunt of Doreen Works of Woburn; cousin of Mary L. Torpey, Bette Donovan, Ellen P. Torpey, James Torpey, Thomas Torpey, John McLaughlin, Sheila Walsh and Patricia Ruggeri and dear friend of Alice Jackson. George C. Beaton, Sr, formerly of Charlestown, did on March 21. He was 64 years old.
The former custodian of St. Francis de Sales Church in Charlestown, he was the husband of the late of Mary Harrington Beaton, loving father of George Beaton of Berlin, NH, John Beaton and Sarah Beaton of Melvin Village, NH and Mary Norman, Somerville; grandfather and brother of Alice Jackson of Charlestown and companion of Thalia Brown.

Rosemary C. Houghton of Somerville, formerly of Charlestown, died on April 9. She was 74 years old.
A retired employee of H.P. Hood Co., she was the beloved daughter of the late William and Rose (Canny) Houghton of Donegal, Ireland; beloved sister of the late Catherine McDonough and her surviving husband, Patrick of Braintree and is also survived by many cousins in Donegal, Ireland and locally.
