Trying to be all things to all businesses is hard. However, the Charlestown Chamber of Commerce or “CCC” is certainly going to try in 2011
Since I took a position on the Charlestown Chamber of Commerce Board (formally the Charlestown Business Association that merged with the Charlestown Retail Organization), we have been working diligently developing programs, networking events – and real value-added opportunities to being a member of the CCC.
We want to take it up a notch and really deliver significant opportunities for our growing business community.
We will be holding a membership drive in the very near future — details will be readily available as soon as we confirm kick off. This week, we defined 1115 businesses in 02129. That is a pretty amazing amount of businesses in one square mile. We know that if we can reach each and every single one of them, we can accomplish our goals.
This year our aim is to grow membership significantly, produce educational, professionally valuable “Brown Bag Luncheon Series” seminars, host evening networking events and publish a comprehensive CCC directory. The directory will be a “go to” source of information for every business, family, and person in Charlestown and the Boston area. We aim to publish by the first week in September
To accomplish all this, we are also looking for committee members to join the Events & Membership Committee, the Hospitality Committee, Restaurant Committee and the Web and Design Committee. For those that have already expressed interest in joining, you will be hearing from us in the very near future.
