Theresa Sandra “Sandy” Chase died on Jan. 24, she was 54 years old.

Derek ‘Jeff’ Curry

Charlestown resident

Derek D. “Jeff” Curry of Charlestown died suddenly on Jan. 19. He was 44 years old.

He was the beloved husband of Jean M. (Lenzi) Curry; devoted father of Jeff Curry of Charlestown, Tiffany and Paige Curry, both of Woburn; loving son of Rita (Robinson) Haley and her late husband, William Haley, of Charlestown and Robert Curry of Medford; devoted brother of Dana Curry and his wife, Lynn, of No. Carolina; loving uncle of Jack and Matthew Curry and is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral arrangements were by the Frank H. Carr Funeral Home, Charlestown. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Barbara Tolley

Of Somerville, formerly of Charlestown

Barbara A. (Fitzgerald) Tolley of Somerville, formerly of Charlestown, died on Jan. 18.

She was the beloved mother of Joseph Tolley; sister of Margaret Cote of Manchester, NH, and the late Marion Colby, Agnes Galligan, Joseph, James, Leo and Thomas Fitzgerald and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Stanley ‘Steve’ Terchiak, Jr.

Retired Landscaper and Foster Father

Stanley S. “Steve” Terchiak, Jr. passed away in his Chelsea home after a long illness surrounded by his loving family on Jan. 18. He was 64 years old.

Born and raised in Chelsea, he was the loving son of the late Stanley S. Sr. and Mary (Delorey) Terchiak.  He attended local schools, graduated from Chelsea High School and worked as a landscaper – grounds man and irrigation specialist for 36 years at Charles River Park in Boston retiring in 2004.

He married Donna M. Ragucci and together they resided in Charles River Park and later in Charlestown before resettling in Chelsea 14 years ago.  He also worked as an independent landscaper for many years.

A devoted Catholic and parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Church, he and his wife opened their home to many foster children over the years.

He was the beloved husband of 32 years of Donna M. (Ragucci) Terchiak; devoted father of Nicole Boumel and her husband, Rick, of Methuen, David Terchiak and Bryant Ronstadt, both of Chelsea; the dear brother of Gerald Delorey of California, George Terchiak of Revere and Lenore Terchiak of Chelsea and the late Maureen Smith, Donna Ritch and Paul Terchiak; cherished grandfather of Joshua and Hailey Boumel and Cheyenne Ronstadt. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated in Our Lady of Grace Church on January 24. Theodore ‘Ted’ Doherty

Boston DPW Foreman

Theodore “Ted” Doherty of Charlestown died on Jan. 19.

An employee of the City of Boston, Foreman of the Dept. of Public Works and Local 799 ILA, he was a US Army veteran of Vietnam.

He was the beloved husband of Margaret A. (Hickey); devoted father of Virginia McNeil, Kathleen Shea, Teddy Doherty, Maggie and her husband, Michael McEvoy; brother of Richard Doherty, Loretta Durkin, Ann Richardson, Norman Doherty and the late Joseph and John Doherty and is also survived by seven grandchildren and the late Anthony M. Shea and James L. McNeil and the great grandfather of Ryan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were by the John H. Sawyer Funeral Home, Charlestown. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Philip Corbin Sr.

Owned former Globe Iron Works in Somerville

Philip F. Corbin, Sr. of Saugus, formerly of Charlestown, died on Jan. 16.

The owner of the former Globe Iron Works in Somerville, he was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Cunningham) Corbin; loving father of Philip Corbin, Jr. and his wife, Marilyn, of Tewksbury, Gregory Corbin and his wife, Catherine, of Middleborough, James Corbin and his wife, Linda, of Saugus and beloved grandfather of Frank, Greg, Keith, Jill, Jason, and Brian. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were by the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, Saugus. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
