James Driscoll

Of Reading, formerly of Charlestown

James F. Driscoll of Reading, formerly of Everett, Somerville and Charlestown, died on Dec. 30.

A US Coast Guard veteran of World War II, he was the beloved husband of the late Anne (O’Driscoll) Driscoll; devoted father of Kevin J. Driscoll and his wife, Kim, of Lowell and Brian F. Driscoll and his wife, Theresa, of Reading; loving grandfather of Nathan, Kelli Usher, Sean, Megan Rosa, Julie and Darren and is also survived by three great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were by the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home, Reading. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Barbara Ann LaPia

Of Saugus, formerly of East Boston

Barbara Ann (Ferguson) LaPia of Saugus, formerly of East Boston, died on Dec. 31.

She was the beloved wife of George LaPia, Sr.; loving mother of George LaPia, Jr. of Saugus, Eileen Parker of Malden, Jon LaPia and Nancy Menna, both of Charlestown; sister of Eileen Keville of Southborough, Joanne Price of Melrose, Kevin Ferguson of New York, Ronald Ferguson of Saugus, Elaine Colon of Revere, Robert Ferguson of Louisiana, Allan Ferguson of Florida, Claire Hunter of Saugus, William Ferguson of New Hampshire and the late Gerald Ferguson, Jr. She is also survivied by 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Joseph Fallon

Tewksbury resident

Joseph M. Fallon lost his battle with cancer at the Veterans Hospital in Brockton on Dec. 28.

A graduate of Tewksbury High School, Class of 1972, he was a long time resident of Lowell and a very proud US Air Force Veteran.

He was the son of the late Barbara (Keohane) Kenney and the late Joseph M. Fallon Sr.; the brother of Paul and Sheila Fallon of Navarre, Florida, Edward Kenney of Everett, Karen Brady and David Zell of Charlestown and Susan Kenney of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was also the brother of the late Stephen Fallon of Tewksbury and the late Cheryl Kenney of Billerica. “Uncle Joe” will be dearly missed by his many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles from the Greater Boston area and Florida.

A memorial mass was held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Brockton with arrangements by the Conley Funeral Home, Brockton. Burial was at the National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his name can be made to New England Center for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court St, Boston, MA 02108.

William King

Charlestown resident

William J. King of Charlestown died on Dec. 28.

A US Army veteran, he was the beloved husband of Theresa (Roach); loving father of Steven King of Maryland, Daniel King of Somerville, William King of Georgia, Suzanne and Kelley King, both of Blackstone, John King of Charlestown and Cheryl Drago of Weymouth; brother of Mary E. Kerins of Medford, Robert L. and Anne N. Laney, both of South Carolina, Linda J. Corey of New Hampshire, and the late “Buddy” King; cherished grandfather of Britney, Marissa, Dylan, Leah, Michael, Christina, Samantha, Isiah and Summer and his great-grandchild. Michael. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Alice Gardner

Of Medford, formerly of Charlestown

Alice M. Gardner of Medford, formerly of Charlestown, died on Dec. 25.

She was the beloved wife of the late Paul V.; devoted mother of Ronald Gardner of Billerica and Susan Evans of Medford; loving grandmother of Ronald, Stacey, Jeffrey, Kristin, and James; loving great-grandmother of Brittani and Trent; sister of the late James Gardner.

Funeral arrangements were by the Dello Russo Funeral Home, Medford. Burial was at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Marina Peracchi

Hood Company Supervisor

Marina Peracchi, a longtime Arlington resident, died on Dec. 23.

She worked as a supervisor at the Hood Co. in Boston.

She was the daughter of the late Guiseppe and Anna Peracchi; sister of Louise Hadley and the late ErmelindaPeracchi; aunt of Janet Hadley of Quincy and Steven Hadley of Florida; great aunt to Gerard Hadley, Gina Hadley, and Kristie Healey.

Lawrence M. Conroy Jr.

Lawrence M. Conroy Jr. of Florida, formerly of Charlestown and South Boston, died on Dec. 28.

He was the beloved son of Larry (Sarge) Conroy Sr. and his wife Kathi, the loving brother of Annie Cantrell and Mary Jo Conroy of Alabama, Paul Conroy of Oklahoma.

At the family’s request, services were private.
