Boys U-10 Division 3C

Woburn 2, Charlestown 0 — In a tremendously entertaining contest of non-stop back-and-forth action, the “Townies” (6-2-1) fell to undefeated Woburn (9-0-0) to finish the season in third place. Although outshooting their opponent by a 12-10 margin, Charlestown’s terrific trio of forwards Aidan Shea (2 shots), John Gaudian (3 shots) and Daniel “DS” Sigmund (2 shots) were kept off the score board. Goaltender Jeremy Shea (3-2-0) played his best game of the year to keep his team in the game and midfielders Conor Kelly (3 shots) and Owen Sullivan (2 shots) seemed to be everywhere on the field with phenomenal hustle and grit. Sweepers Quinlan Carroll, Matthew Coviello and Ryan Messer had their hands full keeping the Woburn precision passing attack in check, but each played their best soccer when it counted most. Congrats to coaches Ross Sigmund and Dave Gaudian on a very successful season.
