Thank you for your generosity
To the Editor,
I’d like to thank the Gerard F. Doherty Memorial Scholarship Committee for being selected as one of the 2025 recipients. Your generous contribution to my education at Arlington Catholic is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

The Print and The Internet
To the Editor,
The Charlestown Bridge newspaper and Instagram joined forces for a successful food drive to benefit our neighbors in the community experiencing food insecurity.
At the 40th annual Bunker Hill Halloween parade this past Friday, over 12 bags of groceries and $170.00 were donated by generous members of the community. Flyers with information about our local food pantry, Harvest on Vine and as well as information about the St. Vincent de Paul Society organization were distributed as an avenue to spread the word about these two wonderful organizations who step up to the plate for those in need.
At the same time, the proprietor of Junebug, Amanda, advertised a flash Instagram cereal drive. Amazingly, in a matter of hours, over 833 boxes of cereal were collected and delivered to the parish center on Winthrop St. to be picked up by volunteers from Harvest on Vine. As always, volunteers from Harvest on Vine assisted every step of the way.
Helping with advertising and an article, the Charlestown Bridge newspaper provided information for those not on social media, and Instagram took up the cause to expand and reach those who frequent that site.
A juxtaposition of these two different media outlets came together seamlessly, the print and the internet. Thank you to all for such an over-the-top spontaneous food drive.
And a huge thank you to those who, year after year, provide the community with the best Halloween celebration where children, adults and four legged companions enjoyed coming together, meeting new neighbors and leaving with joyful memories.
“It takes a village.”
