Harvest on Vine Food Pantry Thanks the Charlestown Community
To the Editor,
On behalf of the Harvest on Vine Food Pantry, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Charlestown community for its overwhelming support during our recent fundraising event at The Tradesman. The generosity and spirit demonstrated by everyone who attended and contributed were truly inspiring.
Your financial support has a direct and meaningful impact on our ability to provide food and essential resources to families in need throughout Charlestown. Thanks to your contributions, we are able to continue our mission of fighting hunger and helping our neighbors during challenging times.
Events like this are more than just opportunities to raise funds—they are a celebration of the compassion and unity that make Charlestown such a special place to live and serve. We are sincerely grateful to every individual, business and organization who participated and donated.
Thank you again for your continued support and commitment to helping those in need. Together, we are making a real difference in our community.
Sincerely,
Tom MacDonald

Charlestown’s 40th annual Monument Square Halloween Trick or Treat
To the Editor,
Exciting festivities this coming October 31 at 5pm at the base of Bunker Hill / Monument Steps and all are invited. This is a special time to meet neighbors, friends and be a part of the Charlestown Community.
The theme this year is to celebrate Bunker Hill 250th–The American Revolution.
As in the past, there will be a table at the base of Bunker Hill to collect donations pf non-perishable foods, as well as monetary donations and provide information regarding the Harvest on Vine Food Pantry. The need is greater than in the past while sources of food distributions are decreasing while experiencing an increase in the needs of many people and families in the Charlestown Community, with food insecurity.
Also, information provided regarding what to do with household items, gently used furniture etc. that may end up being discarded. The St. Vincent de Paul Society has been aiding and helping people quietly and in impactful ways for those less fortunate among us.
We read daily how people are being squeezed, buy groceries, pay the rent, utilities, medications, child- care, etc. and is a heart breaking and mind- boggling decision for many to make. People need our help.
The Charlestown Community is blessed with many kind-hearted people and agencies who are there for those in need, we are grateful and blessed. IT TAKES A VILLAGE.
