RISE Construction and the Ryan ‘Duce’ Morrissey Scholarship Fund announced this week that RISE has agreed to be the Title Sponsor of the Fund’s annual golf tournament, which includes a $15,000 donation. The 6th annual tournament is already sold out and will be held on July 30 in Hollis, NH.
Hank Locke said the sponsorship by RISE is a first for the organization, which has been growing into one of the larger scholarships in Charlestown.
“It’s a very important contribution,” he said. “We’ve been trying for a Title Sponsor for a couple of years now and they are the first to do it. We’re thrilled by the donation and we’re a great thing they came through.”
Eric Gould, of RISE and a Charlestown native, said he was happy to contribute.
“Although I did not know Ryan personally, I’ve learned from stories shared by Ryan’s family and friends what a great, well-rounded kid he was,” said Gould. “His scholarship fund is a means to honor his outgoing personality and caring ways while providing future opportunities to Charlestown teens. I was beyond humbled today to spend time with Duce’s father, Stephen, and the rest of the scholarship committee. I commend them for all their efforts to support Charlestown’s youth through Ryan’s scholarship. The RISE CM team and I are proud to support this very important scholarship, and we look forward to participating in the golf tournament named in honor of Ryan ‘Duce’ Morrissey.”
