Charlestown Beat

Assault and Battery

10/05/20 – A victim on Rutherford Avenue reported that for no reason and with no warning, a male suspect wearing construction boots approached the victim and pushed him to the ground before kicking and punching him. A video of the incident may be available to police.

Receiving Stolen Motor Vehicle

10/05/20 – Police in the area of Walford Way observed an illegally parked car, and a check of the vehicle determined it was stolen. The officers left the area and when they returned, the car was gone. A description of the vehicle was broadcast over police radio, and the car and the person driving it were subsequently located on Elm Street, where he was placed was under arrest (and the car was towed).

Vandalism

10/08/20 – A victim on Decatur Street reported when she returned to her car that morning, she saw that someone had keyed the vehicle, causing extensive damage to the hood, driver’s side door and its fender/bumper area.

Burglary

10/10/20 – A victim on Medford Street reports unknown person(s) broke into his construction site and stole $15,000 worth of HVAC equipment. The matter remains under investigation.

Larceny of a Motor Vehicle

10/11/20 – Officers responded to Charles River Avenue for a removal. The caller informed police that as a result of an argument between him and his guest, he wanted that person to leave. The suspect complied, but it was revealed later that he had stolen the victim’s car keys and took his vehicle without permission. A description of the motor vehicle was broadcast, but as of press time, it still hadn’t been located.
