PLAN Charlestown to Continue with Historical Perspective this Month

The PLAN Charlestown initiative will continue with its second meeting on March 24 in the Charlestown High School Cafeteria.

The effort kicked off on Jan. 30 with a jam-packed house at the Warren Prescott School, an open house format that set the tone for coming together and planning for the future of the neighborhood.

The second meeting will focus on the history of the Town and preservation efforts.

Preservation experts from the Boston Planning and Development Agency (BPDA) – along with help from the Charlestown Preservation Society – will present a history of the Town’s built environment. Members of the planning staff will also present the history of planning in the neighborhood.

Finally, through a participatory exercise, those at the meeting will give feedback on where the PLAN Charlestown process should head next.

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 24, from 6-8 p.m.

The meeting is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend.

In another note on the process, the PLAN Charlestown Advisory Group nomination deadline has been extended to Friday, March 27, at 5 p.m. For more information or to submit a nomination, visit the PLAN Charlestown website.
