Townie Youth Playoff Hockey Continues

•The U10 girls played Nashoba on March 30 in Arlington, losing 4-0. Nashoba heads to the championship game on April 7 in Waltham against Shrewsbury.

•The top-seeded U12 girls played Waltham on March 30 in Arlington, and suffered a 3-0 setback. Waltham will face Allston for the championship this weekend.

•The U14 girls are set to played Friday night, March 28, against the top-seeded New England Pioneers in the Arlington Rink. The girls came up short, losing 3-0. The Pioneers are facing Framingham for the championship Saturday.

•The PeeWee AA had a great playoff run and came up just short in the championships. The team beat Needham 7-1 to land them in the semi-finals against the Everett/Revere squad on March 24, beating them 6-0. In the finals on Saturday, March 30, they lost a close one, 1-0, to Beverly.

College Lacrosse

Salem St. (1-7) junior midfielder Rose Sullivan dished out an assist, blasted 3 shots on net and corralled 4 ground balls in the Lady Vikings 12-2 setback to Worcester State. Rose added a goal and 2 shots in a 15-6 loss to Southern Maine…Franklin Pierce (4-2) junior attacker Colin Doherty notched an assist, 2 shots and 2 ground balls in the Ravens 10-7 defeat to Bentley…Nichols (5-3) junior midfielder Hugh O’Donnell scooped up 8 ground balls and added2 assists in the Bisons 13-9 triumph over St. Joseph (ME).
