Pope John XXIII HS “hoop” honcho Leo Boucher, soon-to-be senior forward Conor Kelly and Tiger sports management youth intern Aidan Boucher received some awesome bling with the issuance of their MIAA D4 State Championship rings last week. For Coach Leo, it is his second such ring (his St. Clement squad were 2014 state champs). With a strong returning cast, no doubt the high school basketball pundits will consider PJ favorites to repeat as champs.
BRADY TKACHUK TO SIGN WITH SENATORS
Brady Tkachuk surprised many at Boston University last week when the 18-year-old with deep Charlestown roots announced he wouldn’t return to college next year.
Instead, he announced he would sign with the Ottawa Senators, who drafted his fourth this summer in the NHL draft – despite the fact that he and his Charlestown family members repeatedly said he would likely take the college route to the pros.
