The Charlestown Townies men’s team took their first-ever Chowda Cup in Marlborough last weekend, beating returning champs Framingham for the Cup. The Townies have participated in the huge hockey tournament – which boasts about 80 to 100 teams – for about 10 years without bringing home a cup. This year was different with the help of Tournament MVP Joe Hurley, along with Captains George Dighton and Jamie Chambers.
