Andy Baer Jazz Quartet: A Musical Tribute for ‘Friend of the Year’ Jane Richardson

The Friends of the Charlestown Library has announced that they will host saxophonist Andy Baer next month as a tribute to Friend of the Year Jane Richardson.

Saxophonist Andy Baer continues to be one of Boston’s busiest musicians. In addition to leading his own jazz ensembles, Baer pilots the Beantown Saxophone Quartet, Hub Strutters Marching Band, and the Boston Jazz Orchestra. Baer’s jazz quartet includes Joe “Sonny” Barbato (piano/accordion), Todd Baker (bass fiddle), and Steve Langone (drums).
For many years, Charlestown resident Jane Richardson, a highly accomplished editor and writer in her own right, has been an active participant in coordinating numerous Friends of the Library endeavors, including serving as co-president. Her dedication has been beyond compare, and the Friends wish to thank her publicly for her many years of enthusiastic leadership and cheerful friendship.
Saxophonist Andy Baer’s performance credits include Dick Johnson and the Artie Shaw Orchestra, Natalie Cole, Rosemary Clooney, The Four Tops, Aretha Franklin, the Temptations, Frankie Valle and the Four Seasons, Johnny Mathis, Bobby Rydell, the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus, to name a few.
