Charlestown Students Win MWRA Poster Contests

The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority is pleased to announce that three students at the Warren-Prescott School, Charlestown, have won MWRA’s annual poster and writing contests.

Gabriella Guadagno Kaluski, grade 3, won Second Place in the poster contest.

Hannah McKenna, grade 2, won Honorable Mention in the poster contest.

Hazel Catherine Collier, grade 5, won Honorable Mention in the writing contest.

This year, students across the MWRA service area were challenged to create posters that show how tap water is used for purposes other than drinking, and essays that describe the greatest benefits of ending the dumping of sludge into Boston Harbor in 1991.

An awards ceremony was held on Friday, May 27, 2016 at the Deer Island Treatment Plant. All of the winning posters and essays are available on MWRA’s website: www.mwra.com.
